Indian semiconductor mission is a strategic Initiative taken by the government of India To promote the domestic semiconductor industry
The mission aims to Enhance semiconductor design and manufacturing capabilities Within the country, fostering Innovation employment and economic growth.
The India Semiconductor Mission is driven by the Indian government in collaboration with various industry associations, research organizations and educational institutions.
Following four Schemes have Been introduced under the Program
1. Scheme for setting up of Semiconductor Fabs in India
2. Scheme for setting up of Display Fabs in India
3. Scheme for setting up of Compound Semiconductors / Silicon Photonics / Sensors Fab and Semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marketing and Packaging (ATMP) / OSAT facilities in India
4. Designed Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme
The government has approved the Semicon India Programme with an outlay of 76000 Crore for the Development of semiconductor And display manufacturing ecosystem in the country
