Google announced an investment of US $15 Billion to build a massive artificial intelligence (AI) data center and infrastructure hub in Andhra Pradesh.
It will be India’s first AI hub and Google's largest AI hub outside the United States.
This AI hub will have a gigawatt-scale data center campus, which will be scaled to multiple gigawatts over time.
The hub will also include highly advanced AI infrastructure, large scale renewable energy sources, expanded fibre-optic network and subsea gateway to enhance global connectivity.
Google is collaborating with Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel for the subsea gateway and data center construction.
This initiative from Google is expected to create 5000 to 6000 jobs directly and up to 1,88000 jobs indirectly.
It will enhance India’s capabilities in Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing and data processing as it holds the huge potential of improving digital infrastructure in India.
This new project by Google is strengthening Indo-US tech cooperation, benefiting the domestic as well as international market.
